Eagles Wrap Up Action in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving team wrapped up a pair of dual-meets this afternoon, defeating Cincinnati, 218-81 and dropping a 209-91 decision to Louisville.

Jacob Hanson was the lone Eagle to clinch a first place finish on the day. He completed the 100 Backstroke in 50.12, good for the seventh fastest time for that event in program history. Justin Duong and Alan Duski would take seventh and ninth for EMU in that same event, respectively.

Hanson would later finish runner-up in the 200 Back, completing the distance in 1:49.28, while Duong placed seventh in 1:59.87. Nate Schingoethe took eighth in 2:00.76, and Typer Capen finished in tenth at 2:02.85.

In the freestyle events, Brian Moore took fifth in the 200 with his 1:45.06 performance. Oded Ivry completed the event in sixth, and would later go on to take third in the 100 free in 46.94.

Matt Zavislak, who took fifth in the 50 free, would place second in the 500 freestyle event in 4:41.46. Franco Petrone took fourth in 4:46.16. He would also be third to touch the wall in the 1,650, racing to 16:29.49 finish.

Michael Swain clinched a fourth place finish for EMU in the 100 Breaststroke and would later record a third place time of 2:07.78 in the 200 Breaststroke.

Michael Kinross picked up a pair of fourth place finishes in the butterfly events, completing the 100 distance in 52.03, and posting a time of 1:56.29 in the 200.

EMU will return to action on Jan. 20 when they host Wayne State at Jones Natatorium. The meet is slated for a 5 p.m. start.
