COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- Battling rainy conditions and a pair of weather delays, the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team struggled through the opening day of the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate Saturday, April 23, and will enter Sunday's final round in 10th position overall with a 614 (309-305). The 11-team field is playing on the 7,455 yard, par-71 Scarlet Course at the OSU Golf Club.
Despite the disappointing start to the tournament, freshman Brian Churchill-Smith (Oakville, Ontario, Canada-Oakville Trafalgar) was a bright point for EMU. The Oakville, Ontario native leads EMU heading into Sunday's 18 holes, placing in a tie for 21th overall with a 149 (74-75).
No. 26 Ohio State University leads the field at 576 (285-291), and Iowa's Vince India is the top individual at four-under 138 (71-67).
Sunday's third round of the event begins Sunday morning with a staggered tee time beginning at 8:30 a.m.
