IOWA CITY, Iowa (EMUEagles.com) -- Battling gruesome weather conditions that forced the field to cut a round from the Hawkeye-TaylorMade Invitational, the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team resides in eighth place with the final 18 holes scheduled for Sunday morning.
Three Eagles sit in the top 31 spots and only three strokes separate those four players. Freshman Brian Churchill-Smith's (Oakville, Ontario, Canada-Oakville Trafalgar) 76 topped the squad in a tie for ninth place. Derek East (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada-St. Paul's-University of New Orleans) and Jared Dalga (Grand Rapids, Mich.-Forest Hills Central) each fired rounds of 79 for a 31st place tie.
As a team, EMU enters Sunday's final round two strokes back of Kansas State University and one stroke ahead of the University of Nebraska. The University of Missouri leads the field with a 297 team score.
