Sophomore carries a 4.0 GPA in biology
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com)– Sophomore Stephanie Clarke of the Eastern Michigan University women's soccer team was selected to the third team of the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) office announced Friday, Nov. 4. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Clarke, a 4.0 student in the biology program, scored a goal and added three assists for five points in the 2011 season. She burst onto the scene in her first season as an Eagle in 2010, when she finished second on the team in points with 14, scoring four goals and dishing out six assists. In a three-game stretch, Clarke posted 11 points including back-to-back five-point efforts.
The London, Ontario native becomes the first Eagle to receive the award since 2009, when Maggie Christensen also garnered Third Team honors.
