YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) The Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving team will make the 70-mile trek to Bowling Green, Ohio to take on Bowling Green State University in the Eagles' second dual-meet of the season. The meet is slated for a 1 p.m. start.

ALL-TIME SERIES: This Friday marks the 33rd meeting between the Eastern Michigan University and Bowling Green State University women's swimming and diving teams. The Eagles currently hold a 17-15 all-time advantage over the Falcons.

The two programs first met 34 years ago in the 1977-78 season, when the then-Hurons dropped a 68-63 decision to the Falcons.

The Eagles have shown success over BGSU through recent years, winning the past 14-consecutive dual-meets between the two programs. Under Head Coach Peter Linn's guidance, the Green and White are 7-0 against the Falcons, with their most recent victory dating back to January 14, 2010. It was then EMU sank the Falcons 158-136, with current member Briana Emig leading the way with four individual victories. She posted first place finishes in the 200, 500 and 1000 Freestyle events and was also a contributor in the Eagles' 400 freestyle relay first-place performance. Jacquelyn Swartz also notched a first place finish of her own in the 200 Individual Medley while posting a second place time in the 200 Butterfly event.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS: The Bowling Green State University women's swimming and diving squad currently sits at 2-2 on the season with an 0-2 mark in the Mid-American Conference.

BGSU most recently competed against MAC opponents Ball State and Ohio,  dropping both dual-meets to fall to 0-2 in the conference. The Falcons suffered a loss to Ohio, 121-168 before falling to Ball State by a score of 127-167.

The Falcons'  two victories on the 2011-12 campaign were picked up in wins over John Carroll and Oakland earlier this season.

LAST TIME OUT: The Eagles are looking to bounce back from their heartbreaking, 151-149 loss to the defending 2011 MAC Swimming and Diving Champions of Ohio that took place last Saturday, Oct. 29.

EMU clung to a 147-136 lead heading into the final event of the afternoon, but the Bobcats finished 1-2 in the 400 Freestyle Relay to tally valuable points and secure the victory.

Freshman Sara Ghaffari was sensational in her debut, notching three individual victories on the day. She placed first in the 50 and 100 freestyle events and also led the Eagles' 1-2-3 attack in the 100 Butterfly.

Briana Emig also earned multiple wins against Ohio. The junior led the way in the 1,000 and 500 Freestyle events and also took second in the 200 Free racing to a 1:52.45 finish—a narrow 0.23 seconds behind Ohio's Emma Michaels.

On the boards, Kelly Hendricks was the top performer in the one and three meter events. She tallied 301.28 points in the one meter dive and led the Green and White's 1-2 finish on the three meter with a score of 281.17. Teammate Danielle Hulvey placed second with 281.11.
