Women's Golf Continues to Climb at Pat Bradley Invitational

EMU in second place, while four Eagles are inside the top 15
FORT MYERS, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team posted a two-round total of 594 (302-292) at the 34th Annual Pat Bradley Invitational on Monday, Oct. 24, the Pelican Preserve Golf Club. EMU, which began the day in third place, is now just two strokes behind host Florida International University (592).
Junior Meredith Fairbairn (Orangeville, Ontario, Canada-Westside Secondary School) remains near the top of the leaderboard following a second round score of 73. Fairbairn's 145 (72-73) total is tied for the second place with FIU's Shelby Coyle and only a shot back of Stetson's Alex Buelow (74-70=144).
Four of the six players in the EMU lineup are in the top-15 heading into Tuesday's final round.
Alyssa Kwon (Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada-Richmond Hill) remains in the top five with score of 72 for a two-day total of 146 (74-72), five shots ahead of Sarah Johnson's (Wixom, Mich.-Walled Lake Central) 151 (79-72), which was good for a split of 12th. With a 152 (77-75), Rushda Mallick's (Cape Town, South Africa-Glenwood House-Cape Peninsula University of Technology) finished the second round in a tie for 14th. Rounding out the lineup, Shannon Warner (Livonia, Mich.-Livonia Churchill-Michigan State) is in a tie for 51st with a 159 (81-78).
Competing as an individual, sophomore Corey Crossan (London, Ontario, Canada-Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School) fired rounds of 79, to sit in a share of 45th heading into the final day.
The Eagles will be seeking their third tournament title of the fall as the final round will begin with a shotgun start on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
