LAST TIME OUT
: The men's swimming and diving team will look to bounce back from their 184-116 setback to the Oakland University Grizzlies last Saturday, Jan. 8 in Rochester, Mich. Troy Esentan (North Little Rock, Ark.-Central) and Jeffrey Craig (Kent, Ohio-Field) were the only Eagles to manage first place finishes in the meet. Esentan was first to touch the wall in the 200 breaststroke, and also finished  second in the 100 breaststroke in 57.57, setting the top time in the Mid-American Conference. Craig earned top finishes in both the one and three-meter events. His score of 382.20 in the three-meter was good for fifth best in the conference, and his 334.17 performance on the one meter boards marked the fourth best score in the MAC. Jacob Hanson (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) added three second-place performances of his own in the 100 and 200 backstroke as well as in the 200 individual medley, meanwhile in the 200 butterfly, the Eagles swept 2-3-4 with Owen Grey (Allen, Texas-Allen) pacing the Green and White, followed by teammates Michael Kinross (Crystal Lake, Ill.-Crystal Lake South) and Aaron Lawson (Middletown, Ohio-Middletown). Also having notable performances were Justin Griggs (Cheltenham, Australia-Australian Catholic University) and Matt Zavislak (Commerce Twp., Mich.-Walled Lake Northern). Griggs took home second place finishes in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, while Zavislak placed third in the 200 freestyle event and later earned second place in the 100 free.

EAGLES FLY SOUTH
: EMU is coming off of a weeklong trip to the Sunshine State where they trained to prepare for the 2011 campaign. The Green and White also ventured to the Ft. Lauderdale Aquatic Complex where both the men's and women's squads competed in the Ed Kennedy Memorial Meet which featured 12 long course relay events. In a 12-team field, the men finished first after posting 132 points on the day.

LOOKING FOR 30
: The Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving team will be looking to win its 30th overall Mid-American Conference title this season. Not only have the Eagles won four consecutive titles, but have also captured 10 of the last 11 overall.
