RIO VERDE, Ariz. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University junior Robyn Scott (Auckland, New Zealand-Westlake Girls-Texas Tech Univ.) continued her strong play with her first career top-10 showing, turning in a second place showing at the Rio Verde Invitational here at the par 71, 6,260-yard Quail Run Golf Course, March 5-7. Competing against some of the region's best golfers, the Auckland, New Zealand native carded a 73 in the final round to finish with a 218.

As a team, the Eagles placed third with a team score of 904 (297-301-306) as the University of Michigan took home the invitational hardware with an 881 (291-287-303). The Wolverines made it a double victory as Ashley Bauer captured medalist honors with a four-under 209 (68-68-73).

The three-day total of 904 is the lowest the Eagles have shot at the Rio Verde Invitational since it expanded to three rounds in 2005.

Freshman Emily Podzielinski (Noblesville, Ind.-Noblesville) gave the Eagles another player among the top 12, after carding a 76 to finish tied for 11th with a 225 (75-74-76). Junior Darby Peters (Lake Orion, Mich.-Lake Orion) and freshman Sarah Johnson (Wixom, Mich. -Walled Lake Central) with a 231, while junior Lina Pasquali (Kendallville, Ind.-East Noble) turned in a 245 (82-76-87) for 78th. 

Senior Marjorie Thuot (Joliette, Ouebec-Therese-Martin) and junior Stephanie Bevington (Ossosso, Mich.-Owosso) competed in the White Wing JV Invitational at the White Wing Course. Bevington ran away with the 36-hole event championship, posting rounds of 73 and 76 to finish with a five-over 149. Thuot finished 19th overall with a 168 (83-85)

The Eagles remain in Arizona, March 15-17, for the Northern Migration Invitational in Florence, Ariz.
