Cam Burke Finishes Tied for Sixth at the USF Invitational

DADE CITY, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – Senior Cam Burke (Baden, Ontario-Waterloo Secondary) remained red-hot on the weekend, finishing with a round of 72 in a tie for sixth place with a four-under par 212 (70-70-72) Sunday afternoon, March 7, at the USF Invitational. As a team, the Eagles recorded a mark of 874 (291-291-292) in eighth place on the 7,153 yard, par-72 Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club.
Behind Burke, junior Brad Larente (Cambridge, Ontario-Hespeler Secondary) carded a 74 on the tournament's final day to finish in a tie for 33rd place with a 218 (71-73-74). Senior Marty Jeppesen (Saline, Mich.-Saline) placed 38th with a 221 (76-74-7174) and Brandon Lemons (Portage, Mich.-Portage Central) came in 68th with a 226 (74-74-78). Junior Zach MacDougall (Coquitlam, British Columbia-Centennial) rounded out the lineup with a 233 (79-79-75) for a tie for 101st place.
Florida Southern College won the overall team tournament with a 12-under 852 (288-281-283). The individual champions was Florida Southern's Matt Stauch, who posted a score of 204 (68-65-71).
Head coach Bruce Cunningham and the Eagles return to action at the Desert Shootout, March 18-20, in Goodyear, Ariz.
