Peters Rallies for a Top 10 Showing at the UALR Golf Classic

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (EMUEagles.com) – Junior Darby Peters (Lake Orion, Mich.-Lake Orion) fired a final round 72 to finish in a tie for ninth place with a 223 (76-75-72) Tuesday afternoon at the UALR Women's Golf Classic on the par-72, 6,200-yard Diamante Country Club, March 29-30. The ninth place showing marks Peters' 12th career top 10 finish and her fifth of the 2009-10 campaign.
Oral Roberts University's Crystal Reeves took home medalist honors with a three-under 213 (73-69-71).
As a team, the Eagles placed 10th with a team score of 923 (311-306-306). Host Arkansas-Little Rock took home the one-stroke victory with a 54-hole mark of 893 (305-288-300) with ORU claiming second with an 894 (299-292-303) and Middle Tennessee State in third with an 895 (291-297-307).
Freshman Emily Podzielinski (Noblesville, Ind.-Noblesville) followed Peters with a 225 (73-77-75), while junior Robyn Scott (Auckland, New Zealand-Westlake Girls-Texas Tech Univ.) added a 235 (81-74-80). Juniors Stephanie Bevington (Ossosso, Mich.-Owosso) and Lina Pasquali (Kendallville, Ind.-East Noble) rounded out the lineup with a 248 (89-80-797) and a 252 (81-84-87), respectively.
The Eagles return to the links April 10-11 at the Indiana Invitational.
