Eagles in 10th Place After Day One of UALR Women's Golf Classic

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team stands in 10th place after the first day of competition at the UALR Women's Golf Classic Monday, March 29, here at the Diamante Country Club. The Eagles posted team rounds of 311 and 306 to total 617 for the first two rounds.
Freshman Emily Podzielinski (Noblesville, Ind.-Noblesville) led the way for the Green and White, firing rounds of 73 and 77 to finish with a 150 and put herself in a tie for 16th place in the individual standings. She is currently eight strokes behind leader Crystal Reeves of Oral Roberts, who opened with a two-under par 142.
Junior Darby Peters (Lake Orion, Mich.-Lake Orion) shot a 151 (76-75) and classmate Robyn Scott (Auckland, New Zealand-Westlake Girls-Texas Tech Univ.) shot a 155 (81-74). Juniors Lina Pasquali (Kendallville, Ind.-East Noble) and Stephanie Bevington (Ossosso, Mich.-Owosso) completed the Eagles' lineup with a 165 and a 169, respectively.
Middle Tennessee State leads the team race with a score of 588 (291-297). Oral Roberts sits three strokes back in second place, and host University of Arkansas-Little Rock is five strokes back in third place.
Play will conclude with the final 18 holes Tuesday, March 30, at Diamante Country Club.
