FLORENCE, Ariz. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team finished in 10th place on the final leaderboard Wednesday afternoon, March 17, at the Northern Migration Invitational. On the third and final day of competition the Eagles fired a team score of 308 to finish 10th in the standings. EMU's three-day total of 923 (312-303-308) kept them 28 strokes out of first place UTSA (Texas-San Antonio) who recorded a final tally of 31-over 895.

Leading the way for the Green and White was junior Robyn Scott (Auckland, New Zealand-Westlake Girls-Texas Tech) who carded a three-over-par 75 on the final 18 holes. The junior from New Zealand, finished the three-day tournament at seven-over 223 (76-72-75) to place in a three-way tie for seventh. Kayla Mortellaro of Idaho led after each round to take home the individual medalist honors with a five-under 211.

Junior Darby Peters (Lake Orion, Mich.-Lake Orion) followed Scott for EMU shooting an eight-over 80 this afternoon as she finished in a three-way tie for 26th with a final score of 14-over 230 (73-77-80). Freshman Emily Podzielinski (Noblesville, Ind.-Noblesville) was third for the Eagless recording a two-over 74 giving her a three-round score of 231 (81-76-74).

Junior Stephanie Bevington (Ossosso, Mich.-Owosso) carded a 79 on the final day to finish tied for 67th with a 239 (82-78-79). Rounding out the scoring for EMU was freshman Sarah Johnson (Wixom, Mich.-Walled Lake Central) who fired a 82 to give her a final tally of 249 (83-84-82). Completing as an individual, Lina Pasquali (Kendallville, Ind.-East Noble) placed 50th with a 236 (75-83-78)

This concludes the third competition of the spring semester for Eastern Michigan who will compete next at the UALR Golf Classic in Hot Springs, Ark., March 29-30.
