FLORENCE, Ariz. (EMUEagles.com) – Behind a second round 72 from junior Robyn Scott (Auckland, New Zealand-Westlake Girls-Texas Tech Univ.), the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team moved into a tie for ninth place with a total of 615 (312-303) at the Northern Migration Invitational. The University of Texas-San Antonio currently leads the tournament with a 36-hole total of 594 (298-296) on the par 72, 6,227-yard Poston Butte Golf Club.
Scott charged up the leader board with the even-par round and sits in seventh place with a two-day mark of 148 (76-72). The Auckland, New Zealand native began the day tied for 30th, but is still 10-strokes off the pace of Idaho's Kayla Mortellaro with a six-under 138 (68-70).
Junior Darby Peters (Lake Orion, Mich.-Lake Orion) is tied for 10th place at 150 (73-77) followed by freshman Emily Podzielinski (Noblesville, Ind. -Noblesville) in a tie for 55th with a 157 (81-76). Junior Stephanie Bevington (Ossosso, Mich.-Owosso) and freshman Sarah Johnson (Wixom, Mich.-Walled Lake Central) rounded out the line up with an 160 (82-78) and a 167 (83-84), respectively.
Competing as an individual, junior Lina Pasquali (Kendallville, Ind.-East Noble) fired rounds of 75 and 83 for an 61st place tie.
The tournament concludes Wednesday, March 17, with a final 18 holes.
