FLORENCE, Ariz. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team is tied for 13th with Northern Arizona University after posting a 24-over par 312 in the opening round of the Northern Migration Invitational hosted by the University of Nebraska. The tournament is being played at the par 72, 6,227-yard Poston Butte Golf Club in Florence, Ariz.
The Eagles played in the blustery conditions during their morning tee time. Junior Darby Peters (Lake Orion, Mich.-Lake Orion) is tied for seventh place with a one-over 73, followed closely by junior Robyn Scott (Auckland, New Zealand-Westlake Girls-Texas Tech Univ.) in 30th with an opening day 76. Freshman Emily Podzielinski (Noblesville, Ind. -Noblesville) posted an 81for a 75th place tie. Junior Stephanie Bevington (Ossosso, Mich.-Owosso) and freshman Sarah Johnson (Wixom, Mich.-Walled Lake Central) rounded out the line up with an 82 and a 83, respectively.
Competing as an individual, junior Lina Pasquali (Kendallville, Ind.-East Noble) fired a 75 for an 18th place tie.
The tournament continues Tuesday with the second of three rounds. '
