Notre Dame Invitational on the Horizon for Eagles

The EMU men's cross country team will run in the 54th annual Notre Dame Invitational Friday at 2:45 p.m.

The Eagles have competed in the Notre Dame Invitational for the past three seasons, their best finish coming in 2006 when they took seventh as a team with 183 total points.
Last season at Notre Dame, the Eagles finished 10th as a team with 296 total points. Then senior Josh Karanja led the way for the Eagles, taking 10th with a time of 23:51, which was his fastest time ever at that point in his collegiate career.
Senior Curtis Vollmar (Grand Blanc, Mich.-Grand Blanc) placed 72nd overall at the Notre Dame Invitational last year with a time of 24:49, while Cole Sanseverino (
Vollmar has led the Eagles in both races so far this season, as the senior captain finished first overall at the 23rd Annual Running Fit-Detroit Titan Invitational with a time of 19:54 – the fastest time in any race in EMU men's cross country history. At the Spartan Invitational, Sept. 18, Vollmar took fifth with a time of 24:58.
