Men's Golf Tied For 10th After Day One of Wolf Run Intercollegiate

Eagles compete in the first tournament of the 2009-10 campaign
ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team got off to a slow start at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate hosted by Indiana University at the par 71, 7,195-yard Wolf Run Golf Course. The Eagles, who shot an opening round 296, followed up with a 297 in the second round to sit a tie for 10th place heading into Sunday's finale.
Senior Cam Burke (Baden, Ontario-Waterloo Secondary) finished the day tied for 11th place with rounds of 73 and 70. Freshman Brad Altenhoff (Oakville, Ontario-White Oaks Secondary) carded a 148 (75-73) for 28th place while senior Brandon Lemons (Portage, Mich.-Portage Central) notched a 151 (71-80) for a tie for 48th. Senior Marty Jeppesen (Saline, Mich.-Saline) and junior Nick Carbary (Kalamazoo, Mich.-Mattawa) rounded out the lineup with a 152 and a 157, respectively.
The University of Illinois tops the team standing with a 563 (281-282) followed closely by the University North Florida with a 574 (280-294).
Sunday's final round commences with an 8:30 a.m. start and teams teeing off from the 1st and 10th tees.
