The Eastern Michigan University baseball team dropped game two of a three game set Saturday afternoon, April 11, at Oestrike Stadium, as the Ohio University Bobcats downed the Eagles, 6-4, in a Mid-American Conference match-up.

The loss puts EMU at 8-24 (3-8 MAC) this season, while OU improves to 15-14 (8-3 MAC) with the win.

Senior Kyle Rhoad (Fostoria, Ohio-Elmwood) went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases in the loss. Rhoad has tallied 20 stolen bases in 20 attempts this season.

After the Bobcats took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, the Eagles answered with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning, as an RBI hits by junior Jim Gulliver (Allen Park, Mich.-Allen Park) and senior Aaron Powell (Clarkston, Mich.-Clarkston) made it a 2-1 game. But the Bobcats came back to score one in the top of the fifth to make it a 2-2 game.

Sophomore Matt Skirving (Midland, Mich.-H.H. Dow) helped EMU reclaim the lead in the bottom of the seventh, as his RBI single up the middle plated Rhoad, who doubled earlier in the inning, making it a 3-2 game.

The Bobcats answered in the top of the eighth, as two-run double to the gap in right center by Chris Klimko put OU ahead, 4-3. OU tallied two more in the inning to take a 6-3 advantage.

The Eagles rallied in the bottom of the ninth for one run, but OU's Bryce Butt closed the door on the Eagles to pick up the win.

The Eagles and Bobcats wrap up their three-game set tomorrow with a 1:05 p.m. game at Oestrike Stadium.
