RIO VERDE, Ariz. – Senior Stephany Fleet (Dewitt. Mich.-Dewitt) moved into a tie for eighth place with a 149 (76-73) after the second day of action at the Duramed Collegiate Invitational Saturday afternoon, March 7. As a team, the Eagles are tied with Northwestern University for sixth place with a 614 on the par 71, 6,260-yard Quail Run Course at the Rio Verde Country Club.

Behind Fleet, sophomore Darby Peters (Lake Orion, Mich.-Lake Orion) notched an even-par 71 for a two-day total of 152 (81-71) to move up to 20th place. Senior Courtney Ail (Chelsea, Mich.-Chelsea) followed up her first round 75 with a 78 to a combined total of 153 in a tie for 27th place. Junior Marjorie Thuot (Joliette, Ouebec-Therese-Martin) is tied for 64th with a 160 (78-82) while sophomore Lina Pasquali (Kendallville, Ind.-East Noble) is in 9th place with a 167 (81-86).

The University of Kansas shot a second round 295 to hold onto a 20 shot lead over the University of Toledo with a 609 (304-305). Minnesota and Arkansas-Little Rock are tied for third with a 610 followed by Northern Arizona at 613. The Jayhawks' Meghan Gockel used a one-over par 72 to take a two-stroke lead into the final round, but there are 13 golfers within five shots of the lead.

The final round begins with a shotgun at 8 a.m.
