EMU Travels to Arkansas to take on a 21-team field at Diamante C.C.
The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team travels to Hot Springs, Ark. for the 2009 ULAR Women's Golf Classic. The two-day event will take place at the Diamante Country Club, with two rounds on Monday and the final 18 holes slated for Tuesday morning.
There are 21 teams competing in this 6,200-yard, par-72 event. The UALR Trojans won the inaugural event in 2007 and last year Tulsa claimed victory. Competing with the Green and White this week will be UALR, Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Eastern Michigan, Florida International, Louisiana Monroe, McNeese State, Middle Tennessee, Univ. of Missouri Kansas City, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Oral Roberts, Sam Houston State, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas Pan Am, Texas-El Paso, Toledo, Troy, Western Kentucky, Western Michigan, Wichita State.
The Eagles are coming off of a third place finish at the Rio Verde Collegiate in Rio Verde, Ariz. Senior Stephany Fleet finised tied for fifth over all (76-73-74=223; +10).
