CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University men's golfers carded four rounds under par during the opening two rounds to grab a share of ninth place after 36 holes at the Aldila Scenic City Invitational at the par-72 Council Fire Golf Club in Chattanooga, Tenn., Monday, Oct. 26.

Senior Marty Jeppesen (Saline, Mich.-Saline) led the way for the Eagles shooting back-to-back rounds of one-under par 71 to hold a share of 16th place while teammate Brad Larente (Cambridge, Ontario-Hespeler Secondary) shot two-over par 146 (73-73) over the opening two rounds. Jeppesen trails tournament leader Olafur Loftsson (68-67=135) of Charlotte by seven strokes through the opening day. Nick Carbary (Kalamazoo, Mich.-Mattawan) and Brandon Lemons (Portage, Mich.-Portage Central) each posted a 147 while Cam Burke (Baden, Ontario-Waterloo Secondary) fired a 148 (74-74).

The host Chattanooga Mocs (284-280=564) used an eight-under 280 in round two to share the tournament lead with Wichita State (285-279=564). Southern Miss is in third place with Charlotte in fourth place and Middle Tennessee State in fifth place after Monday's play. Furman and Missouri State are tied for sixth just 13 strokes behind Chattanooga.

Final round play will begin with a shotgun start on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
