Cross Country to Host EMU Fall Classic

The EMU Fall Classic is set for Friday, Oct. 23, in Dexter.
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Before heading to Athens, Ohio for the 2009 Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championship, the Eastern Michigan University men's and women's cross country squads will host the EMU Fall Classic Friday, Oct. 23, at Hudson Mills Metro Park in Dexter, Mich.
The women's 5,000-meter event will kick things off at 4 p.m., followed by the men's 10,000-meter event at 4:30 p.m. and the men's 5,000-meter event at 5:15 p.m.
The EMU Fall Classic has always been a well received event which has attracted outstanding athletes such as New Zealand Olympian Nick Willis, NCAA Steeplechase champion Jordan Desilets, British internationalist Gavin Thompson, Canadian internationalist Ryan McKenzie, members of the Hanson's Racing Club and Olympic Trials Steeplechase finalist Corey Nowitzke.
Hudson Mills Metro Park in Dexter is best reached by exiting North Territorial Road (west) from US- 23. The park entrance is past Zeeb Road on the left when exiting US-23. Parking for the event costs $4 per vehicle.
Entry to the non-scored event is $5 per athlete. Unlimited entries, open to college, club, and unattached. High school runners are not permitted to compete. All entry fees can be paid at the park the day of the race. Checks should be made payable to EMU Cross Country. All entries should be sent to EMU head men's cross country coach John Goodrdige via e-mail at jgoodridg@emich.edu or by faxed to Goodridge at 734.487.5940 by noon on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
