Eagles to compete at the Sea Ray Relays
EAGLES INVADE THE MARBLE CITY:
The Eastern Michigan University men’s and women's track and field team will hit the road, this weekend (April 11-12) travelling to Knoxville, Tenn., to take part in the 42nd annual Sea Ray Relays, hosted by the University of Tennessee. The relays, inaugurated in 1967, have enjoyed much success with top notch performances and stiff competition.EAGLE HISTORY AT THE SEA RAY: In 42 years of the running of the Sea Ray Relays (formerly known as the Dogwood Relays), EMU has produced 47individual or relay wins. Former EMU great Paul McMullen still holds the meet record in the 1,500 meters (3:39.40) on the men's side, which he set in 1995. He was also awarded the Tony Wilson Memorial Trophy, given each year to the most outstanding male and female athlete in both the running and field events.
