YPSILANTI, Mich. — The Eastern Michigan University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams defeated Oakland University today at Jones Natatorium.  The men came away with a 172-128 victory, while the women posted a 193-107 victory.
     
 On the men’s side, Steven Bowling won the 1,000 freestyle, with teammate Dave Stefl coming in third.  Dan Kish took the 200 freestyle, with Bowling placing third.  Ryan Fulkerson captured the 100 and 200 butterfly, with Owen Grey and Cody Hollies finishing third and fourth respectively.  Derick Roe and Ethan Crabtree took the top two spots in the 50 freestyle, with Roe taking the 100 freestyle as well.  In addition to his 1,000 freestyle victory, Bowling came away with a win in the 500 freestyle.  Matt Guinan won the three-meter dive, with the 400 freestyle team of Crabtree, Kish, Andrzej Olesinski and Roe ending the night with a victory for the Eagles.
     
 For the women, the 200 medley relay team of Tracy Morgan, Chelsea Allard, Sheila Carson and Catherine Lee Ha started the night with a win for the Green and White.  Madeleine Pilchard took the 200 freestyle, with teammate Hannah Burandt finishing less than a second behind her.  In addition to her victory in the 200 freestyle, Pilchard also won the 50 and 500 freestyle races.  Carson, Allard and Lindsay Kolar took the top three spots in the 100 breaststroke, while Lauren Zafir won the 100 and 200 butterfly.  Becky Renkola won the one-meter and three-meter dives, with Ashley Durand, Chantelle Lonsdale and Allard taking the top three places in the 200 breaststroke.  The 400 freestyle relay team of Burandt, Alissa Ricard, Lee Ha and Pilchard won the final event of the evening for EMU.
    
  The women will be back in action Friday, Jan. 18 when they travel to Athens, Ohio to take on the Ohio University Bobcats.  Both teams will then travel to Columbus to take on Big Ten foes Ohio State and Michigan State, Saturday, Jan. 19.
