Kelli Stein,
an All-American swimmer at the University of Michigan in 2004, enters her first year as an assistant coach for the EMU men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs.Stein was an outstanding swimmer at Michigan for three years and completed her bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and Communication in 2004. She earned All-American honors in her senior season and was a first-team All-Big Ten swimmer twice, in 2003 and 2004. She was a six-time All-American honorable mention selection, was a College Swimming Coaches Association of America Academic All-American (CSCAA) in her senior season, and was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree (2002, 2003, 2004).
After graduating from Michigan in June 2004, Stein worked with the Scioto (Ohio) Country Club in the summer of 2005 as an assistant swimming coach and has been the office manager at Clintonville (Ohio) Servicenter since June 2005. She also served as an assistant swimming coach at Dublin Scioto High School in 2004-05, and as the masters swim coach at Sawmill Athletic Club in 2005.
The 24-year-old Stein (2-3-82) is a native of Columbus, Ohio and attended Bishop Waterson High School. She was a member of the University of Kentucky women’s swimming and diving team as a freshman in 2000-01 before transferring to the University of Michigan to complete her undergraduate degree.
