Chase Kreitler joins the Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving staff for the 2011-12 season as a graduate assistant for the Eagles.
Kreitler, a native of Valley Village, Calif., spent last summer as co-director and coach at the Athletes in Action Colorado Swim Project based out of Fort Collins, Colo. where he helped develop and coach collegiate athletes during an eight week high-altitude training camp.
Previous to his work in Fort Collins, Kreitler spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the California State University, Bakersfield men’s program where he worked primarily with the sprinters. In the two years that he coached at CSUB, the swimmers broke 10 team records. During the 2010-11 campaign, he helped coach a talented squad that went on to win the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation conference title.
Prior to coaching, Kreitler was a four-year letterwinner for the Roadrunners and was named co-captain during the 2008-09 season. As an undergraduate student he was named the Outstanding Student in the Exercise Science Concentration for his graduating class.
He is currently completing his graduate degree in exercise physiology.
