Entering her first year at EMU in 2021-22 is Allison Lane, who came to Ypsilanti after spending three years at Central Michigan University.
Lane served as a Graduate Assistant Coach (2018-20) and Volunteer Assistant Coach (2020-2021) at Central Michigan under Head Coach Sara Tisdale. As a member of the Chippewas' coaching staff, she assisted with the offense and draw-takers.
In the spring 2021 season, Lane helped guide the Chippewas to a 9-6 overall record with a 7-2 mark in Mid-American Conference play. CMU finished the season on a high note, winning five of its last six games, including a 17-4 defeat over Youngstown State, March 19.
The Chips' offense was strong all season as they bested their opponents in goals (202-161), assists (68-50), shots (464-399), shot percentage (.435-.404), shots on goal (333-299), and shots per game (30.9-26.6). The team also took advantage of its free position opportunities, converting on 53-of-108 (.491) attempts. Additionally, the Maroon and Gold outdrew the opposition (200-193) and scooped up more ground balls (305-285).
Furthermore, Central's Natalie Karlen wrapped up her season ranking sixth in the nation in points per game (6.0), eighth in goals per game (4.27), 11th in total goals (64), and 15th in shots on goal per game (6.13).
Lane helped lead the Chippewas to a 2-3 finish in the abbreviated 2020 season. Though the campaign lasted just three weeks, four Chippewas earned individual weekly honors from the Southern Conference. Karlen and Jessica Schuchardt each picked up the league's Offensive Player of the Week Award, while Brianna Hart and Hope Murray were both honored as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
In 2019, Lane assisted a program that saw senior Jocelyne Lemay earn the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Year Award as CMU set program records for goals (232), points (330), shots (517), shots on goal (397), draw controls (241), and saves (202).
Before coming onto the scene in Mount Pleasant, Mich., Lane received her bachelor's degree in Communications at Marquette University. On the field, she was a four-year letterwinner and two-time captain as a standout midfielder for the Golden Eagles. During her time in Milwaukee, she was named to the All-Big East First Team twice (2016, 2018), All-Big East Second Team once (2017), and Big East All-Academic team three times (2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18).
As a senior, Lane recorded career-highs in goals (39), assists (14), points (53), ground balls (47), draw controls (82), and caused turnovers (25). Her 47 ground balls remains the most in a single season in program history at Marquette. She concluded her senior campaign at the 2018 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Senior All-Star Game where she was selected to the North team.
