YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University Football returns to The Factory Friday, Sept. 4, when the Eagles host San José State University at 6:30 p.m. inside Rynearson Stadium.
Eastern Michigan and San José State are meeting for the third time in series history, with the Eagles holding a 2-0 advantage after capturing a pair of bowl victories over the Spartans.
Friday night will feature a full lineup of events before, during, and after the game, including a student tailgate, Eagle Walk, a car show, a special appearance by competitive eating legend Joey Chestnut, a student giveaway, and postgame fireworks. The night's festivities are sponsored by BELFOR.
The day begins at 3 p.m. with the student tailgate, giving EMU students a place to gather before heading into The Factory.
At 4:15 p.m., fans are invited to Eagle Walk to welcome the football team on its way to The Factory.
Fans are also invited to check out the car show as part of Friday night's activities around Rynearson Stadium.
Gates to Rynearson Stadium open at 5 p.m. EMU students will want to arrive early, as the first 1,000 students will receive a black hard hat while supplies last.
Kickoff between Eastern Michigan and San José State is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. inside Rynearson Stadium.
The night will continue after the final whistle with a postgame fireworks show over The Factory.
All on-campus EMU Athletics events are free for Eastern Michigan students.
New for the 2026-27 season, EMU students have a new way to access home games with the Boarding Pass. The all-in-one pass serves as a student's ticket for every home football game and every men's and women's basketball home game throughout the academic year.
Students only need to download the Boarding Pass once and add it to their mobile wallet. The same pass will remain there throughout the year.
To access the Boarding Pass, students should use their EMICH email address to sign in to their ticket account, select "Sign In With Code," and enter the six-digit code sent to their email. Once logged in, students should select "My Account," locate the Boarding Pass, and add it to their mobile wallet.
Students experiencing issues accessing their Boarding Pass should contact the EMU Ticket Office at 734.487.3669 or emu_tix@emich.edu. The Boarding Pass must be accessed from a mobile device.
Fans will also notice several additions to The Factory this season. The stadium concourse has been expanded and renovated, while new food options include a Kroger location and Chick-fil-A.
