Seven Eagles Earn CSC Academic All-District At-Large Honors

Five EMU programs were represented among this year's selections

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University placed seven student-athletes on the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team, CSC announced today, June 16. The honor recognizes student-athletes who have achieved success both in competition and in the classroom, maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50 while meeting sport-specific participation requirements.

Representing Eastern Michigan were student-athletes from gymnastics, rowing, men's golf, women's golf, and lacrosse.

From gymnastics, senior Kyrie Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista) earned recognition after posting a 3.8 GPA in Interior Design. Lowe was named Academic All-MAC, earned MAC Gymnast of the Week honors on March 17, and was selected to the All-MAC Second Team.

In rowing, Abbi Lauth (Grosse Ile, Mich./Grosse Ile) was recognized for her accomplishments in the classroom, carrying a 3.96 GPA while studying Marketing and Communication. Lauth also earned All-MAC Second Team honors during the 2025-26 season.

Men's golf was represented by Leo Mihaich (Bell Ville, Argentina/Figuero Alcorta Normal School/Oklahoma Christian), who appeared in seven tournaments in his lone season with the program after transferring to Eastern over the summer. Mihaich averaged 74.7 strokes per round this year, finishing his career with an average of 71.7, including 31 top-20 finishes in collegiate tournaments.

Women's golf was represented by Janae Leovao (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino/Long Beach State) and Baiyok Sukterm (Bang Yi, Thailand/Panitchayakan Rajdamnern Tech/Lindsey Wilson). Leovao earned a pair of All-America honors, including Golfweek All-America Third Team and WGCA All-America Honorable Mention, First Team All-MAC recognition, defeated the nation's No. 1 ranked player in NCAA match play, and finished the season ranked No. 46 nationally. Sukterm also garnered First Team All-MAC honors and placed among the top 15 individuals at the NCAA Championships while finishing the year ranked No. 53 nationally. The duo led the team to the NCAA Regionals and NCAA Championships for the first time in program history and helped it climb from No. 226 in the final rankings in 2024 to a tie for third in 2026.

Women's lacrosse saw two student-athletes honored in Annika Wozney (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) and Mackenzie Blackwell (North Beach, Md./Northern), both of whom earned the CSC honor last year as well. Wozney, Eastern Michigan's recipient of the MAC Medal of Excellence, earned First Team All-MAC honors and started all 65 games in program history on defense. Blackwell was named First Team All-MAC and participated in the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game while finishing her career holding or sharing more than 60 percent of the program's records.

The Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.
