TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) –
A historic season for the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team added yet another chapter today, May 13, as the Eagles, making their NCAA postseason debut, earned a berth into the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships after they finished fourth at the 2026 NCAA Tallahassee Regional that was played May 11-13 on the par-72, 6,272-yard Seminole Legacy Course in Tallahassee, Fla. With its finish in Florida, Eastern Michigan became only the second women's team in Mid-American Conference history to reach the NCAA Championships.

"It feels great to punch our ticket to nationals," Head Coach Josh Brewer said following the third round. "This group of players, I am so happy for all of them. They believed in doing something that there is no way to see it, but you could only dream about it. I am happy for them and for all the support we have received; it has been amazing. I am happy for everyone from Eastern Michigan to GameAbove and everyone else that has given us so much support and for everyone that has invested in this chance. We are one of 30 teams to make it to nationals, and we want to be one of 15 and then one of eight. We want to keep counting it down and picking up tee times."

Eastern finished the three-round tournament in fourth place after shooting 5-over 869 (287-293-289), doing what it needed to do to remain among the top five in the standings to advance. The No. 27 Eagles will be joined in California by No. 9 Wake Forest University, who was first at 8-under 856, No. 25 Florida State University, who was second at 4-under 860, No. 3 University of Florida, who was third at 3-under 861, and No. 34 University of Kentucky, who took fifth at 6-over 870.

Individually, Janae Leovao (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino/Long Beach State) led the charge as she tied for seventh at 3-under 213 (68-73-72) while Baiyok Sukterm (Bang Yi, Thailand/Panitchayakan Rajdamnern Tech/Lindsey Wilson) was ninth at 2-under 214 (73-71-70) after shooting under par in back-to-back rounds for the Eagles. The scores for Leovao and Sukterm tied for the 14th and 20th-lowest scores in program history, respectively.

Jasmine Leovao (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino/Long Beach State) and Savannah de Bock (Ecaussinnes-d'enghien, Belgium/Institut de l'Enfant-Jésus-Lycée/Georgia) tied for 26th as both shot 5-over 221 while Mariana Vega (Barranquilla, Columbia/Colegio Karl C. Parrish) tied for 52nd at 17-over 233 to round out the Eagles in the field. Combined, the quintet helped Eastern earn its top five finish and mark the 11th time in 12 tournaments this season the Eagles have finished in the top four of an event after winning three tournaments, taking second five times, and posting three, fourth-place finishes.

Team Notes
» Heading into the season, Eastern had never competed in an NCAA event as a team and was first represented individually last year by Savannah de Bock, who was an at-large selection to the 2025 NCAA Columbus Regional. Seeded fifth in NCAA Tallahassee Regional, Eastern needed to finish in the top five to advance to the national event and did so by placing fourth overall.
» After becoming only the second women's program in Mid-American Conference history to earn a berth into the NCAA Regionals, Eastern added another historic note by joining Kent State as the only teams in the league to advance to the NCAA Championships.
» In the 12 tournaments the Eagles played in 2025-26, they finished among the top four 11 times, including three wins, five runner-up finishes, and three fourth-place showings. The lone outlier was a tie for seventh place at the GolfWeek Red Sky Classic in September.
» With its fourth-place finish, Eastern secured another victory over a higher-ranked team as the Eagles finished ahead of No. 15 UCLA, who was sixth at 9-over 873. Eastern finished the year 3-0-0 against the Bruins.
» Eastern shot 289 in the final round, which tied for the 23rd-best single-round score in program history. The score also stood as the 34th time in program history Eastern has shot 290 or lower in a tournament with 29 of those instances coming since the start of last season when Josh Brewer took over the program.
» The Eagles finished with a score of 869, which ranked as the eighth-best score in program history. It also was the Eagles' second-best score at Seminole Legacy Golf Club after they shot 868 to finish second earlier this year at the Florida State Match Up, March 20-22.
» The NCAA Championships will be played at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., which is a short 20-minute drive south down I-5 from Oceanside, where Janae Leovao and Jasmine Leovao hail from. Their high school, El Camino, is roughly a 30-minute drive from the course.

Individual Notes
» Janae Leovao was the top finisher for the Eagles as she tied for seventh at 3-under 213, marking the best 54-hole score of her regional career, surpassing the 216 she recorded last year for Long Beach State at the 2025 Gold Canyon Regional. Her 213 tied for the 14th-lowest score in program history and tied for the ninth-lowest of her four-year collegiate career.
» Baiyok Sukterm finished ninth overall at 2-under 214 as she fired a final-round 2-under 70 to lower her score. Sukterm, who was the only Eagle to card multiple rounds under par in the tournament after shooting 1-under 71 in the second round, tied for the 20th-best score in program history.
» Jasmine Leovao and Savannah de Bock both finished a 5-over 221 to help the Eagles maintain their top five standing. Leovao's score was the third-best of her collegiate career at the regional event after shooting 218 at the 2024 Cle Elum and 220 at the 2025 Gold Canyon events. The 221 for de Bock was the best of her regional career, surpassing the 226 recorded at the 2024 Auburn Regional with Georgia and the 228 shot last year for EMU at the 2025 Columbus Regional.
» Jasmine Leovao will be making her second career appearance at the NCAA Championships and her second at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa after she qualified to the 2024 event as an individual. In the 2024 event, she shot 15-over 231 and tied for 114th overall.
