Junior netminder repeats as the top keeper and earns All-MAC First Team honors as well
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- The Mid-American Conference announced its annual specialty awards and all-conference selections for the 2026 lacrosse season, April 29, with seven members of the Eastern Michigan University program earning recognition, including Maddy Porter, who repeated as the MAC Goalkeeper of the Year. The annual awards were voted on by the eight head coaches in the league and announced ahead of the 2026 MAC Tournament that is set to begin April 30 in Moon Township, Pa.
The All-MAC squads featured six Eagles with two players named to the first and four to the second team. Porter (Montrose, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) was joined by Mackenzie Blackwell (North Beach, Md./Northern) as a First Team All-MAC honoree while Second Team All-MAC accolades went to Kelsea Dague (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield), Tracy Grollman (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis Area Christian School), Emerson Henry (Ashburn, Ontario/Donald A. Wilson), and Annika Wozney (Elk River, Minn./Elk River). Additionally, rookie Emma Reichert (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) was named to the 2026 MAC All-Freshman Team. As a program, the six All-MAC selections are the most in a single season, surpassing the four earned last year, while the seven total awards when adding the all-freshman honors are the highest, bettering the six earned last year. Overall, the Eagles have had at least one major award winner named all four years the team has played (2023-26) with at least one all-conference honoree as well.
Along with the annual goalkeeper award, Porter earned a place on the First Team All-MAC list for the second consecutive year and marked her third season earning All-MAC after she was tabbed for the second team in 2024 as a freshman. Porter, who earned the sixth major award in program history, added to her previously earned goalkeeper award in 2025 after being named the 2024 MAC Freshman of the Year. This season, she continued to shine as one of the top keepers in the conference and the NCAA as she ranked among the top 50 nationally in five categories, including ninth in saves per game (9.63), ninth in save percentage (.498), 11th in saves (154), 41st in goals against average (10.21), and fourth in ground balls (4.13) while posting three games with 16+ saves, including 21 at Vanderbilt (March 4), which ranked as the second-highest total in a single game in the NCAA this year, while her eight ground balls against Cincinnati (March 8) tied for the 10th-highest nationally.
Porter backstopped a team that won 10 games, marking the first time EMU has reached double-digit wins, while holding eight foes to single-digit goals scored, including three MAC teams at four or fewer goals while posting a full half shutout of two different conference teams. For her efforts, she was named the MAC Goalkeeper of the Week five times in 2026 to bring her career total to eight after earning three last year and nine total as she was named the MAC Defender of the Week once in 2024 before the separate goalkeeper award was created.
Blackwell, the 2023 MAC Freshman of the Year and the 2025 MAC Attacker of the Year, earned her fourth All-MAC accolade as she was named to the second team as a freshman in 2023 before being named to the first team in each of the past three seasons. This year, she continued her trend of leading the team in nearly all offensive statistical categories as she posted 44 goals and 18 assists for 62 points, marking the second consecutive year she has reached 60 points and third consecutive with 50+ points. Her 2.76 goals per game ranked fourth in the MAC and 51st nationally while her 44 goals ranked fourth in the MAC and 47th in the NCAA. With five goals scored in the finale against Youngstown State (April 25), which ranked as the 10th highest total in a single game in the MAC this year, she made it 14-of-16 games with multiple goals this year. During the season, she reached several career milestones as the only player in program history to reach 150 goals and 200 points while becoming just the third player to post 30+ assists as well.
Grollman saw her name on the awards list for the first time in her career as she was named Second Team All-MAC in 2026. Grollman has put together a career year as the team's go-to facilitator as she posted 37 assists, 18 more than the previous single-season record at Eastern, and a total that led the MAC and ranked 24th nationally. She also ranked 24th in the NCAA and second in the league with 2.31 assists per game as she posted two of the top games in the MAC this season with five assists vs. Cincinnati (tied for third) and four against Kent State (tied for seventh). She reached 54 points, which tied for third on the program's single season list while also making her only the second player to post 50+ points in a single season, joining Blackwell on the list. Overall, she became the first player in EMU history to reach 50, 60, and 70 career assists.
Henry returned to the all-conference list as the 2025 Second Team All-MAC and 2025 MAC All-Freshman Team honoree earned second team honors once again. Henry ranked second on the team with 31 goals in 2026, third in assists with 10, and third in points with 41, all of which were career highs for the sophomore, while she led the way with 52 draw controls and added career highs in game-winning goals (two) and caused turnovers (11). Her 31 goals ranked ninth in the MAC while her 1.94 goals per game average ranked 10th after she scored at least one goal in the final 11 games of the regular season. In the circle, she posted 52 controls, which ranked sixth in the MAC, while her 3.25 average ranked eighth.
Wozney earned her second career honor from the conference as she was named to the second team one year after earning a spot on the first team for her defensive play. This year, Wozney tied for the team lead with 20 caused turnovers and added 11 ground balls as she started and played all 16 games, making her one of only two players in program history to start and play in all 65 contests (Blackwell). She recorded five caused turnovers against Robert Morris (April 18), which was tied for the fourth-highest total by a MAC player this year as he brought her career total to 55, four more than the previous school record. She was a big factor in the defense limiting teams to 161 shots (32 fewer than last year) and 428 shots (62 fewer) as the Eagles held half of the teams faced (8-of-16) to single-digit goals, including three MAC teams that were limited to four or fewer as Eastern won 10 games for the first time in program history.
The comeback season for Dague was recognized by her first all-conference honor as she landed on the second team in 2026 after missing the entire 2025 season because of an injury. Dague came back strong to post 23 points on 17 goals and six assists with three of her goals standing as the winning goal, including the winner in the 12-8 upset win at Oregon (Feb. 22). She tallied at least one point in each of the final eight games of the year, including all seven MAC contests, while adding 17 draw controls, eight ground balls, and five caused turnovers.
Reichert earned a spot on the rookie list after she tied for sixth in scoring for the Eagles as she netted 10 goals with her scoring coming in pairs as she tallied two goals each in five games, including two each against Power 4 teams in Vanderbilt and Cincinnati. She scored on 68.4 percent of her shots on goal (10-of-13) with three coming on free-position shots.
