Porter Earns Fourth MAC GK of the Week Accolade

Junior continues to perform as one of the top goalkeepers in the MAC and NCAA
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Mid-American Conference has announced its weekly lacrosse awards with Eastern Michigan University junior Maddy Porter being voted the MAC Goalkeeper of the Week, March 31, marking her fourth weekly award of the season. Porter has been one of the top players in the league and continues to shine for the Eagles, who are off to their best start in program history at 7-5 (2-1 MAC).
Porter (Montrose, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson), who earned the seventh weekly goalkeeper award of her career from the MAC, finished the game at the University of Akron (March 28) with nine saves, five ground balls, and two caused turnovers. She recorded at least two caused turnovers for the fourth time this year while posting four or more ground balls in a game for the fourth time this season. Porter is averaging 3.85 ground balls per game to lead the MAC and ranks seventh nationally while her 108 total saves are first in the conference and seventh nationally as well.
Porter has now garnered eight career honors from the MAC as she has been named the MAC Goalkeeper of the Week seven times (three times in 2025 and four times in 2026) and was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week (April 9, 2024) before the league added a specific goalkeeper honor in 2025. Her honor this week also is the sixth of the season for the program as she joined Kelsea Dague (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and Karly Low (Owen Sound, Ontario/Owen Sound District Secondary) in sweeping the three awards, Feb. 17, as Dague was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week and Low was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Eastern is back in action this weekend at home as the Eagles will play host to rival Central Michigan University Saturday, April 4, in a 1 p.m. game at Scicluna Field that will be streamed live on ESPN+.
