YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University Athletics will officially introduce new Head Men's Basketball Coach Billy Donlon at an introductory press conference Thursday, March 26, at 10 a.m. inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center.
Fans, alumni, and members of the media are invited to attend. The event is open to the public, and the Ypsilanti and greater Southeast Michigan community is strongly encouraged to be part of this moment as EMU welcomes Coach Donlon and his family.
This event marks the start of a new era for Eastern Michigan men's basketball and offers the community a direct way to connect with the program. Local supporters, families, students, and fans from across the region are invited to fill the stands and help set the tone for EMU basketball's future.
Donlon is the 31st head coach in program history and brings more than 25 years of NCAA Division I coaching experience. He arrives at EMU following a successful run as the associate head coach at Clemson University, where he helped guide the Tigers to one of the most productive stretches in program history, including an Elite Eight appearance in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
Donlon has compiled a 155-133 career record as a head coach, including successful tenures at Wright State and Kansas City. He has led teams to postseason appearances across multiple levels and built a reputation for disciplined, defensive-minded play and strong player development.
The introductory press conference will include remarks from university leadership, followed by Donlon's first public comments as head coach. Media members will have the opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session following the formal program.
