Lowe wins beam with career-best 9.900 and posts all-around career high

KENT, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team closed its regular season Sunday, March 15, falling to Kent State University, 195.875-194.150, in its final Mid-American Conference meet before the MAC Championships hosted by Bowling Green. The Eagles were highlighted by Kyrie Lowe, who posted a career-best 9.900 on beam and recorded a career-best all-around score of 39.200 after topping her previous career best just two days earlier.
How It Happened:
Eastern opened the meet on uneven bars and posted a 47.875 team score. Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista) led the Eagles with a 9.875, while Jacquelyn Patterson (Mason, Ohio/Mason) followed with a strong 9.800. Keeley Kohler (Davison, Mich./Powers Catholic) added a 9.750, and Genae Daniel (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) contributed a 9.475 to the lineup. Analiah Solorio (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield Senior) scored an 8.975, and Gwendelyn Cantu (Joliet, Ill./Providence Catholic) rounded out the rotation with an 8.675. Sanai Evans (Norcross, Ga./Paul Duke STEM) competed in exhibition and posted a 9.450 as Eastern began the meet on bars.
Eastern moved to vault and recorded a team score of 48.425. Lowe and Daniel led the rotation with matching 9.725s, while Georgie Slack (Uttoxeter, Staffordshire/Thomas Alleynes) followed with a 9.700. Kendall Landry (Frisco, Texas/Wakeland) added a 9.675, Abby Brushwood (State College, Pa./State College Area) posted a 9.600, and Cantu contributed a 9.375. Macy Nihart (East Lansing, Mich./Home School) competed in exhibition and scored a 9.625 as the Eagles completed the second rotation.
Eastern continued on floor and recorded a 48.850 team score. Brushwood and Nihart led the Eagles with matching 9.825s, while Evans followed with a 9.775. Priya Karle (Canton, Mass./Canton) added a 9.725, and both Lowe and Landry posted 9.700s. Slack competed in exhibition and scored a 9.575 as Eastern delivered a strong third rotation.
Eastern closed the meet on beam with its highest team score of the season, posting a 49.000. Lowe led the rotation with a career-best 9.900, while Kohler followed with a 9.850. Katin Childress (Prosper, Texas/Prosper) added a 9.800, and both Patterson and Solorio recorded 9.725s. Landry contributed a 9.100, while Nihart and Brushwood competed in exhibition as the Eagles finished the meet with their strongest event of the afternoon.

ON THE HORIZON
Eastern will travel to Bowling Green, Ohio, for the 2026 Mid-American Conference Gymnastics Championship on Saturday, March 21, at 2 p.m. inside the Stroh Center. Bowling Green will serve as the host institution for the championship meet. Spectator seating will be located in the upper bowl of the arena, with Eastern Michigan fans assigned to Section 114. The full competition will stream live on ESPN+, with Hans Glandorff on play-by-play and Kim Glandorff serving as the analyst.
