Eleko earned All-MAC Second Team, Hill named Freshman of the Year, All-Freshmen, and All-MAC Honorable Mention
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University women's basketball student-athletes Sisi Eleko and Peyton Hill earned All-Mid-American Conference honors as the league announced its All-MAC teams and specialty awards Tuesday, March 10.
Eleko (Montreal, Quebec/New Hope Academy/Canisius) earned All-MAC Second Team honors for the second consecutive season, while Hill (St. Louis, Mo./Incarnate Word Academy) was tabbed Freshman of the Year, All-MAC Honorable Mention, and earned a spot on the All-Freshman team.
A force in the post, Eleko led the MAC in rebounds per game for the second-consecutive season with 9.9 per contest (31st nationally) while ranking second in points per game (17.4). The senior recorded 17 double-doubles this season, the most in the MAC and seventh most by value nationally, on her way to tying EMU's all-time double-doubles record, posting 31 in 56 career games. An efficient scorer, Eleko slotted sixth in the MAC in both field-goal percentage (48.5%) and free-throw percentage (78.6%). She was the only MAC player to rank in the top two in points and one of rebounds or assists per game
She concludes her collegiate career with 51 double-doubles, the third-most by an active NCAA Division I player, as she is one of five to post 50 or more in their careers. She scored over 1,500 points (1,735), ranking inside the top-35 among active student-athletes, and recorded 1,053 rebounds, the 12th most. She concludes her EMU career with the highest career rebounds per game average (10.0) while ranking fourth in points per game (17.7)
Eleko became the first Eagle to earn All-MAC designation in consecutive seasons since Areanna Combs was named All-MAC Second Team in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 campaigns. The honor is EMU's 21st All-MAC Second Team nod. In total, the 6-foot-2 senior holds three all-conference honors in her career after being named All-MAAC First Team in 2023-24 with Canisius and All-MAC Second Team at EMU in 2024-25 and 2025-26.
Coming off a dominant freshman campaign, Hill paced MAC freshmen in points per game with 14.6 (ninth in the MAC), free-throw percentage (81.9%, sixth in the conference), and minutes per game (33.8, seventh in the MAC). She also paced the league's rookies with 22 double-digit scoring games and seven games with 20-plus points. Hill showed efficiency as a freshman, shooting 35.2% from three-point range and 44.7% from the field, the second and fourth-best marks by a MAC freshman, respectively. She also dished 2.1 assists per contest, ranking fourth among MAC rookies.
Hill capped her freshman campaign with 409 points, the sixth most by an EMU freshman in program history. Her 81.9% clip from the free-throw line slots seventh in the program's single-season records. Her 22 double-digit scoring games are the most by a freshman Eagle since Courtnie Lewis also reached the mark in 2017-18, and her seven 20-point outings are the most since Cha Sweeny posted 11 in the 2013-14 season. Averaging 14.6 points per game, she recorded the highest average by an EMU rookie since Lewis posted 15.0 per game in 2017-18.
Hill becomes just the fifth MAC Freshman of the Year in program history and first since Sweeny took home the honor in the 2013-14 season, when she also landed on the conference's second team. The 17th member of the MAC All-Freshmen Team, Hill is the first Eastern rookie to garner the accolade since Olivia Smith in the 2022-23 campaign as she marks the 21st Eagle to collect All-MAC Honorable Mention. She is the first EMU student-athlete to earn the title since Danielle Minnot in 2018-19.
In total, the 2025-26 season marked the first since 2011-12 where Eastern earned a trio of All-MAC honors. That season, program all-time scoring leader Tavelyn James was named first team while Paige Reddit and Natachia Watkins saw third-team delegations.
Together, Eleko and Hill played a large role in the Eagles holding a +11 win differential from the 2024-25 season (2-27, 1-17 MAC) to the 2025-26 campaign (13-16, 6-12 MAC) as Eastern was one of the five most improved teams by number of wins nationally this season, and produced the program's largest win improvement since it also improved by 11 wins in 2009-10 from the 2008-09 team's 8-21 (4-12 MAC) record.
