Lacrosse Team, Players Earn Academic Honors from IWLCA

Eagles land 12 players on annual academic ledger, including 10 earning second award
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced its 2024-25 IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Squad and 2024-25 IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll lists today, July 23, with the Eastern Michigan University program well represented for its academic achievements.
As a program, the Eagles have earned selection to the Honor Squad for the third consecutive year. Eastern is one of 383 schools nationally across NCAA Division I, II, and III, and the NAIA that posted a minimum cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 for the 2024-25 academic year.
Individually, 12 Eagles were named to the Honor Roll for the 2024-25 academic year. To be eligible for the individual honor, a student-athlete needed to be a junior, senior, or graduate student and carry a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater. All told, the 12 Eagles are part of a group of 1,163 student-athletes from 124 NCAA Division I programs to be honored this year.
Ten members of the program earned their second career honor from the IWLCA, including: Abby Alderman (Lusby, Md./Patuxent), Amber Alderman (Lusby, Md./Patuxent), Caitlin Beahm (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North), Mackenzie Blackwell (North Beach, Md./Northern), Samantha Borgert (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeast), Gina D'Alessio (Ft. Pierce, Fla./Vero Beach), Tracy Grollman (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis Area Christian School), Haley Hodak (Severn, Md./Old Mill), Avery Schwab (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin-Scioto), and Annika Wozney (Elk River, Minn./Elk River). Both Payton Bloedow (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake/Stony Brook) and Karly Low (Owen Sound, Ontario/Owen Sound District Secondary) earned their first IWLCA honors with the Eagles.
