YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its annual Men's and Women's At-Large Academic All-District selections with six Eastern Michigan University student-athletes earning recognition, the CSC announced, June 23. The Eagles selected included Angelica Holman from golf, Raisa Boris from gymnastics, Mackenzie Blackwell and Annika Wozney from lacrosse, and Bryah Moriarty and Lily Wilhelm from rowing.
To earn recognition, a student-athlete must be a sophomore athletically and academically, maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, and adhere to certain criteria per nominating sport. The sport criteria included participating in at least 70 percent of team-scored events or competed at the conference tournament for golf; being ranked among the top 75 in an event according to Road to Nationals rankings for gymnastics; competed in at least 90 percent or start at least 66 percent of games played for lacrosse; and competed in four competitions or at the conference championship event for rowing. Each academic institution was permitted to nominate no more than six men and six women for at-large accolades.
Holman (Fort Pierce, Fla./Lincoln Park Academy/Daytona State/Georgia), a junior with the Eagles, joined the golf program in January 2025 and made an immediate impact as she averaged 78.2 strokes over eight events for the Eagles. In the regular season, she posted a best of 10th place at the River Landing Classic (March 3-4) as the team took second place with Holman carding a 7-over 223. She played in two rounds of the MAC Championships to help the Eagles to a third-place showing before closing the season with a victory at the Women's National Golf Invitational as she shot an even-par 216 (69-74-73) to win the postseason title and help the team to a runner-up finish.
Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center), a senior on the gymnastics team, posted a 39.025 all-around score, highlighted by her 9.800 bars routine at the 2025 NCAA Regionals, April 3. The senior closed her career with her ninth all-around showing of at least 39.000 in 2025. Boris tallied at least 9.700 in all four events for the sixth time last season. Boris, who also qualified in 2024, was the first Eagle to qualify for NCAA Regionals in all-around in back-to-back seasons since Emili Dobronics did so in 2018 and 2019. Boris was recognized as the MAC's Senior Gymnast of the Year for the second-straight season, in addition to being named Second-Team All-MAC.
Blackwell (North Beach, Md./Northern), a junior with the lacrosse program, earned a pair of honors from the MAC in 2025 as she collected her second major award (2023 MAC Freshman of the Year) as the MAC Attacker of the Year while earning her third All-MAC accolade after being named to the second team in 2023 and the first team last year. The top scorer in the MAC and No. 15 nationally with 3.69 goals per game, Blackwell has tallied at least three goals in 13-of-16 games played in 2025 to bring her total to 59, making her the first Eagle to score 50+ goals in a single season. The first MAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week recipient in program history (April 9), Blackwell was a three-time MAC Offensive Player of the Week as she broke five school records while becoming the first EMU player to hit major career milestones, including 100+ goals and 100+ points, while adding single-season milestones, including 50+ goals, 60+ points, 100+ shots. Overall, Blackwell ranks in the top 50 in three categories on the NCAA's Active Career list, including ranking 13th in goals per game average (3/.06), 31st in draw controls per game (4.56), and 42nd in total goals scored (147).
Wozney (Elk River, Minn./Elk River), a junior with the lacrosse program, earned her first postseason honor from the MAC as she was named to the All-MAC First Team after earning her first accolade from the league, April 22, when she was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week following the game with the University of Akron in which she caused five turnovers and collected three ground balls. While her 22 ground balls didn't rank in the top 10 of the league, her 19 caused turnovers placed her eighth in the MAC (1.19 per game), and coupled with her play, helped her catch the eyes of the coaches as she was continually tasked with marking the opposing team's top attacking threat. Overall, her five caused turnovers against the Zips tied the program's single-game record and stands as the most recorded against a MAC foe as well.
Moriarty (Christchurch, New Zealand/Burnside), a sophomore on the rowing team, was named All-CAA for the first time in her career. Moriarty rowed on the 1V8 for each of the team's regatta's this season, helping Eastern reach the Grand Final at the CAA Championships, May 17, in which EMU produced its top time of the day at 7:05.133.
Wilhelm (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville/Butler), a senior on the rowing team, was named All-CAA for the second time in her career after also earning the honor in 2023. She became the fourth different Eagle to earn recognition on multiple occasions. Emma Boersen (2021 and 2022), Amanda Flora (2017, 2018, and 2019), and Krista Burdick (2014 and 2015) also earned the honor at least twice. Wilhelm also helped the United States earn gold at the 2024 World University Games.
