CHIP INS
» The Eagles are making their first appearance in a national postseason tournament by playing in the Women's National Golf Invitational. The event, founded by Golfweek in 2023, is in its third year.
» The team event is the second historical accomplishment for the team this week as Savannah de Bock tied for 45th at the NCAA Columbus Regional. She is the first member of the program to play in an NCAA event (regional and/or national) and, when including the EMU men's program, just the third student-athlete from Eastern Michigan to compete at a regional event (Korey Mahoney in 2005 and 2006 and Christopher Ross in 2009).
» Following her three rounds at the NCAA Columbus Regional, Savannah de Bock finished the year with a season stroke average of 73.1, the lowest in program history, bettering the 74.7 by in 2015-16 by Kelsey Murphy.
» As a team, the Eagles' best four-players season scoring average is 301.2, which is 2.8 strokes ahead of the current school record of 304.0 that was set in 2015-16. This year's team has lowered the mark despite playing 10 more rounds than the 2015-16 squad (37 to 27) and taken nearly 3,000 more strokes (11,144 to 8,209).
» Individually, two Eagles currently hold season stroke averages that rank in the top 10 of the program's top 10, including Savannah de Bock and Mariana Vega, who are first (72.9) and tied for sixth (75.5), respectively.
» Eastern enters the week ranked No. 125 in the latest Scoreboard/Clippd NCAA Division I rankings, the second-highest the team has climbed this year, surpassed only by the No. 124 ranking achieved March 12. The Eagles never climbed higher than No. 212 all of last season.
» The Eagles played against many of the best teams in the nation this year as the Eagles participated in tournaments against 15 of the 30 teams set to play at the NCAA Championships, May 15-21, in Carlsbad, Calif. One of those teams, Kansas, who EMU faced four times in 2025, won the NCAA Columbus Regional.
» Assistant Coach Caterina Don competed in her third Augusta National Women's Amateur (April 2-5) in Augusta, Ga., firing a two-round score of 148 (75-73). Although she missed the cut to the final round, she finished tied for 50th in her first tournament in nearly one year while playing against 71 of the world's top ranked amateurs.
» The current roster is comprised of seven players, six of whom are new to the program this year. Riley Kim is the lone returning player and is joined by two transfers and three freshmen.
» The coaching staff is also new in 2024 as Josh Brewer takes over in Ypsilanti following 12 years at Georgia. Brewer has added two assistants to his staff, including Caterina Don, who was one of his top players at Georgia, and Anna Watson, a four-year member of the Eastern program, both of whom graduated in 2024.

The Eagles have taken on Mercer (Golfweek Red Sky Classic and Gators Invitational) and Santa Clara (Leadership & Golf Invitational and Rainbow Wahine Invitational) twice this year with one meeting each against Bowling Green (MAC Championships), North Texas (Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational), Oral Roberts (Daniel Island Invitational), Seattle (Leadership & Golf Invitational), and UNC Wilmington (River Landing Classic). The River Landing Classic, hosted by UNCW, saw the Eagles finish second to the host Seahawks.

LOOKING BACK: 2025 NCAA COLUMBUS REGIONAL
Savannah de Bock shot 12-over 228 (75-76-77) to finish in a tie for 45th at the 2025 NCAA Columbus Regional, May 5-7, in Columbus, Ohio. The first player in program history to participate in an NCAA event, de Bock opened the tournament tied for 44th before climbing into a tie for 34th after day two.

LOOKING BACK: 2025 MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Eagles finished third at the MAC Championships, April 20-22, at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind., shooting 42-over 906 (301-310-295) to post the second-lowest score by an EMU squad at the MAC event and just the second score under 920 at the conference tournament. The team's first top three finish since taking second in 2015, the Eagles improved their score from 2024 by 66 strokes. Savannah de Bock and Julianna Go both shot 11-over 227 to tie for 11th while Erina Tan shot 13-over 229 to place tied for 18th and give EMU three top 20 finishers.

ALL-MAC SELECTIONS
The MAC announced its annual awards for the 2024-25 women's golf season, April 25, with EMU landing two players on the all-conference lists as Savannah de Bock was selected All-MAC First Team and Mariana Vega selected All-MAC Second Team. The selections are the first for the program since 2022 and marked the first time multiple Eagles were honored since the 2015 campaign. Historically, the selections for de Bock and Vega make them the 17th and 18th different players in program history, respectively, to earn All-MAC accolades and the first since Anna Watson, who currently serves as a graduate assistant with the program, was named All-MAC Second Team in 2022. The selection for de Bock marked the 31st honor attained by an EMU golfer and made her the 10th different Eagle to earn first-team honors while Vega garnered the 32nd all-time honor while becoming the 13th player to earn second-team honors. Additionally, the last time two or more Eagles earned All-MAC accolades in the same season came in 2015 when Kelsey Murphy was named All-MAC First Team and Karyn Lee Ping earned All-MAC Second Team.
