EMU Accepts Invitation Into Women's National Golf Invite

Eagles will play in third edition of national tournament May 9-11 in Arizona

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team will play one final team tournament this season as the Eagles have accepted an invitation to compete in the 10-team Women's National Golf Invitational that will be played May 9-11 at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course in Maricopa, Ariz., just south of Phoenix. The tournament, held in partnership with Golfweek, will feature 10 teams that did not qualify for the NCAA Regionals that being May 5.
 
The Eagles, ranked No. 125 in the April 30 Scoreboard/Clippd rankings, are one of two teams from the Mid-American Conference to earn an invitation with No. 164 Bowling Green State University also set to compete. The field includes the following teams: No. 71 University of North Texas, No. 84 University of North Carolina Wilmington, No. 88 Mercer University, No. 94 Santa Clara University, No. 100 Rutgers University, No. 112 University of North Carolina Greensboro, No. 114 Oral Robert University, and No. 119 Seattle University. Rutgers is the defending champion.
