ATHENS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University track & field programs made a strong statement on the opening day of the 2025 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, highlighted by two event titles and a series of personal-best performances that positioned the Eagles among the early team leaders at Goldsberry Track on the Ohio University campus Thursday, May 15.

The men's team closed the day in second place with 26 points, trailing only the University of Akron, while the women's squad sits in a tie for third with 23 points, just behind Miami University and Akron.

How it Happened - Men
Sophomore Jake McEachern (Lloydminster, Alberta/Lloydminster Comprehensive) opened the championship in emphatic fashion, capturing EMU's first title of the meet with a dominant season-best throw of 63.63m in the hammer throw, marking a season best and leading all competitors.
