WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – Julianna Go
posted a tournament-best four eagles to place eighth overall as the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team placed 10th overall at the Boilermaker Spring Classic in West Lafayette, Ind., April 6-7, in the team's final tune up ahead of the postseason. The Eagles, playing on the par-72, 6,212-yard Ackerman-Allen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on the campus of Purdue University, led the field with five eagles while the remaining 15 teams combined for five.
 
In the team standings, the Eagles finished 10th at 38-over 902 (301-297-304), one shot behind fellow Mid-American Conference foe Northern Illinois University, who shot 37-over 901 (293-303-305). The Eagles, who finished of MAC foes University of Akron (12th, 55-over 919) and University of Toledo (T-14th, 70-over 934), saw seven of the top 8 teams in the standings ranked among the top 100 in the Scoreboard/Clippd rankings (April 2). No. 52 University of Illinois won the event at 11-over 875 (296-281-298) while No. 67 Denver University was one stroke behind at 12-over 876 (292-292-292).
 
Individually, Go (San Juan, Philippines/St. Jude Catholic School/King) put together one of the top tournament performances of her collegiate career as she posted her first top 10 and first top 20 finish with the Eagles while shooting 3-over 219 (73-72-74), which lowered her season-best by 13 strokes (232 at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, Sept. 23-25, and at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational Oct. 21-23). Not only did her 219 tie for the 26th-lowest score in program history, it also allowed her to finish ahead of six players ranked in the national 150, including No. 52 Catherine Rao of Princeton University (T-9th), No. 148 Emma Bryant of Denver (T-11th), No. 42 Isabella McCauley of the University of Minnesota (T-20th), No. 127 Momo Sugiyama of Purdue (T-20th), teammate and No. 133 Savannah de Bock (Ecaussinnes-d'enghien, Belgium/Institut de l'Enfant-Jésus-Lycée/Georgia)(T-20th), and No. 47 Natasha Kiel of Purdue (T-76th). To reach her record score, the Eagle carded four eagles with six others tying for second with one each, including de Bock.
 
One other Eagle finished in the top 20 with de Bock tying for 20th with a 9-over 224 (76-71-77). It marked her 10th top 20 finish of the season and the 14th of her two-year collegiate career. Erina Tan (Belmont, Western Australia/Mount Lawley Senior) finished tied for 37th at 11-over 227 (74-76-77) as she posted the second-best score of her short collegiate career. Mariana Vega (Barranquilla, Columbia/Colegio Karl C. Parrish) tied for 56th at 16-over 232 (78-78-76) while Riley Kim (Aldie, Va./Lightridge) tied for 73rd at 21-over 237 (79-79-79).
 
Up Next
The postseason begins for the Eagles, April 20-22, when Eastern ventures to Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind., for the 2025 MAC Championships. The 10-team field, which includes Akron, Ball State University, Bowling Green State University, Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan, Kent State University, Northern Illinois, Ohio University, Toledo, and Western Michigan University, will compete over three days with the winning team earning an automatic berth into the 2025 NCAA Regional Championships.
