Fisher’s Two Event Wins Leads Gymnastics in 195.175 Effort at Sacramento State

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (EMUEagles.com) - Alana Fisher won both vault and beam to lead the Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team to a 195.175 mark at Sacramento State University Sunday, March 9, inside The Nest.
Fisher (Athens. Ala./Alabama Connections Academy) recorded her first and second event wins of the season, including her first-ever on beam with a 9.875 showing. Fisher's 9.850 topped the vault scores in a meet that saw Sacramento State's 195.225 points narrowly edge Eastern.
Abby Brushwood (State College, Pa./State College Area) also posted an event win, putting together a 9.875 showing on floor to continue her stellar season.
How It Happened
Raisa Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center) led Eastern in the all-around category with 39.075 points, highlighted by her 9.850 effort on beam. Kyrie Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista), also competed in all four events, logging 38.950 points with her top score being 9.825 on beam
Freshman Analiah Solorio (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield Senior) continued her impressive stretch, matching her career-high 9.800 for the fourth-straight meet, which was tied for second, along with freshman Keeley Kohler (Davison, Mich./Powers Catholic). The 9.800 is a career high for Kohler. Lowe (9.775), Boris (9.750), and Ella Chemotti (Canton, Mich./Canton) (9.725) also helped Eastern produce 48.850 points, its top score on bars this season.
Fisher's winning 9.850 mark led Eastern on vault, representing her first event win of the season. The Eagles had just one other score of 9.700 or higher in the event as Gwendelyn Cantu (Joliet, Ill./Providence Catholic) registered a 9.700 to contribute to EMU's 48.475 total score.
Brushwood's 9.875 yielded her third floor win of the season as she has scored 9.800 or higher in seven-straight meets on floor, tallying a 9.850 or higher in six of those eight meets. Boris chipped in 9.800 points, her fifth-straight meet with at least a 9.800 on floor. Fisher added a 9.750 to help Eastern tally 48.800 points in the event.
With her 9.875 Sunday, Fisher has produced five-straight beam efforts of at least 9.800. Prior to this season, the vault and floor specialist had only competed on beam twice, March 9, 2024 (9.750) and March 23, 2024 (9.200). Chemotti was tied for third in the event at 9.850, marking her fourth 9.850 or higher on beam this season. Boris also logged 9.850 points while Lowe was fifth with 9.825. Eastern scored 49.050 points on beam, the second-most it has scored in any apparatus this season, .15 points short of the Eagles' 49.200 beam effort, Feb. 27.
