YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team will celebrate Senior Night Friday, March 14, at 6 p.m., against Ball State University.

FISHER TWO EVENT WINS: Senior Alana Fisher recorded her first and second event wins of the season, March 9, including her first-ever on beam with a 9.875 showing. Fisher's 9.850 topped the vault scores in a meet that saw Sacramento State's 195.225 points narrowly edge Eastern.
FISHY ON BEAM: Senior Alana Fisher recorded a career-high 9.875 on beam, Feb. 27, before equaling that mark, March 9, and earning her first career event win on beam. Fisher has produced five-straight beam efforts of at least 9.800. Prior to this senior the vault and floor specialist had only competed on beam twice, March 9, 2024 (9.750) and March 23, 2024 (9.200).
ABBY BRUSHWOOD GREAT STRETCH: Sophomore Abby Brushwood has produced an impressive stretch, particularly on floor. She topped the floor scores, March 9, with a 9.875 mark. Brushwood's career-high 9.900 won the floor competition, Feb. 27, as the sophomore has won the event in back-to-back meets after tallying a then-career-high 9.875 at Central Michigan, Feb. 14. Brushwood has scored 9.800 or higher in eight-straight meets on floor, tallying a 9.850 or higher in six of those eight meets. In the meet, Feb. 27, Brushwood also put up a solid 9.800 on vault, the second-best mark of her career in the event.
RAISA BORIS SEASON-BEST ALL-AROUND: Senior Raisa Boris registered a season-best 39.300 all-around score, Feb. 27, which is tied for the 19th-best mark in program history. Boris earned her fifth all-around win of the season and scored 9.750 or better in all four events, highlighted by season-high 9.875 efforts on beam and floor. Boris also produced a season-high 9.800 on vault.
SEASON-HIGH 195.775, FEB. 27: Helped by a season-high 49.200 mark on beam and a season-high 49.025 on floor, Eastern produced a season-best 195.775, Feb. 27. Eastern's 48.825 on vault is its second-best of the season while its 48.725 marks its third-best bars score of the season.
CAREER-HIGHS FROM FEB. 27: Feb. 27, freshman Brianna Lucas produced Eastern's first career high of the day with a 9.675 on bars. The Eagles had a trio of career highs on bars with freshman Analiah Solorio's 9.800, freshman Keeley Kohler's 9.775, and freshman Sanai Evans' 9.600. Senior Alana Fisher recorded a career-high 9.875 on beam, Eastern's lone career high in the event. Sophomore Abby Brushwood recorded EMU's final career-high with an event-winning 9.900 on floor.
EASTERN AT CENTRAL MICHIGAN: Senior Ella Chemotti posted a 9.925 on beam, the program's fourth-best score ever in the event, and sophomore Abby Brushwood continued her superb efforts on floor, posting a then-career-high 9.875 as the Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team fell against Central Michigan Friday, Feb. 14, 195.625-194.150.
MORE ON CHEMOTTI AT CENTRAL MICHIGAN: With her 9.925 on beam. Senior Ella Chemotti became the first gymnast in EMU history to have four scores of 9.925 or higher on beam in her career as her 9.925 Friday is tied for the fourth-best mark in program history in the event, falling .025 points shy of her career high 9.950, set in 2022. Chemotti has achieved at least a 9.925 in four different seasons, becoming the first Eagle ever to do so on beam and joins Natalie Hashimoto as Eagles to do so in any event. Chemotti helped Eastern total 49.025 on beam, its top mark in any event this season.
TOP MARKS AGAINST THE BRONCOS: Raisa Boris' 9.875 beam-winning score was the Eagles' top mark against Western Michigan, Feb. 9. Abby Brushwood also matched her career high on floor with a 9.850 clip while Alana Fisher posted a career-best 9.825 on beam. Freshman Katin Childress was the third Eagle to hit a career mark with a 9.775 on beam.
KYRIE LOWE ALL-AROUND WIN AT NORTHERN ILLINOIS: Kyrie Lowe earned her first career all-around win with a 38.850 score at Northern Illinois, Feb. 2. Lowe registered a trio of scores above 9.7, highlighted by a 9.775 effort on bars, as she tallied her first event win on bars of the season and third of her career. Adding in her 9.775 on beam, Lowe has 9.775 or higher in both bars and beam in back-to-back meets for the first time this season.
9.850 AT NORTHERN ILLINOIS: Raisa Boris earned a 9.850 on beam at Northern Illinois, Feb. 2, while Abby Brushwood also tallied a 9.850 on floor to lead EMU in the meet.
RAISA BORIS MAC GYMNAST + SCHOLAR-ATHLETE: Raisa Boris was named MAC Gymnast of the Week, Jan. 21, and MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week, Jan. 22. Boris finished in the top 10 in all four events as her day was highlighted by a second-place mark in beam with a 9.825. Boris also had at least a 9.8 in bars (9.825) and floor (9.800).
KNOCKED OFF THE PRESEASON FAVORITES: In addition to topping Northern Illinois and Winona State, Eastern Michigan narrowly edged MAC preseason favorite Ball State, 195.125-195.000, Jan. 17, at the Golden Girls Classic.
PICKED FIFTH IN THE MAC: The Eagles were picked to finish fifth in the MAC, as revealed by the conference office, Jan. 3.

MAC GYMNASTS TO WATCH: Alana Fisher and Keeley Kohler were named MAC Gymnasts to Watch for the 2025 season. Fisher and Kohler were two of the 14 student-athletes selected as each squad had two gymnasts picked. Against Kent State, Jan. 26, Fisher posted a season high on floor with a score of 9.800 which tied her for third in the overall event and Kohler posted a career high in bars with a score of 9.725 which tied her for sixth place in the event with fellow teammate Raisa Boris.
BEST SEASON-OPENING SCORE SINCE...?: Against Bowling Green, Jan. 12, Eastern Michigan posted a 194.925 in the season opener, marking its best score in a season-opening competition since at least the 2002 season.
The Eagles' 194.925 narrowly edged their season-opening 194.875 score against Bowling Green, Jan. 11, 2020, and at Pittsburgh, Jan. 10, 2016.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: UC Davis ranks 45th nationally with a 195.025 NQS. The Aggies' top event is floor, in which they rank 37th nationally with a 49.020 NQS. San Jose State ranks 47th nationally with a 194.770 NQS. The Spartans' top event is beam, in which they rank 35th nationally with a 48.910 NQS. Sacramento State ranks 49th nationally with a 194.650 NQS. The Hornets' top event is beam, in which they rank 31st nationally with a 48.960 NQS.
2024 AT THE MACS: Eastern finished sixth at the 2024 MAC Championships, March 23, with a 194.000 team score.

RAI'S AWARD COLLECTION: Senior gymnast Raisa Boris earned MAC Gymnast of the Week honors four times last season. Against Kent State, March 3, she contributed to the Eagles' 196.450 team score (good for third all-time). Additionally, the senior was honored with the MAC Scholar-Athlete title twice in 2024 for her efforts both in the gym and the classroom.
Boris was named both the MAC Gymnast of the Year as well as the Senior Gymnast of the Year after an incredible senior season (electing to use her COVID season of eligibility for 2025). The last time an Eagle was named the Gymnast of the Year and Senior Gymnast of the Year was when Jolene Worley won both titles in the 2008 campaign. Additionally, Boris is just the fourth different Eagle to win the overall honor and the seventh to earn the Senior Gymnast title.
TRUE ALL-AROUNDER: Senior Raisa Boris earned a career-high 39.525 all-around score at KSU, March 3. Her score is good for second in EMU program history, behind Natalie Hashimoto's 39.725 (2000). The Eagles had yet to see a gymnast hit anything close to Boris' score since the 2021 season when Jada Rondeau scored a 39.475.
ELLA CHEMOTTI, BEAM CHAMP: As just the fifth MAC beam champion in school history, senior Ella Chemotti is the first to earn the title on the apparatus since 1998 when former Eagle JJ Cullom took the top spot with a 9.850. During the regular season, Chemotti continued to hold the top spot in the beam event as she led the MAC in the category for three consecutive years. Additionally, with her three straight first team honors, the 2022 MAC Freshman of the Year became the first EMU gymnast in program history (regular season All-MAC selections started in 2013) to secure the first team three-peat.
FRESH FACES: Eastern Michigan has seven new faces ahead of the 2025 season. All seven of the newcomers are freshmen and include Sanai Evans (Norcross, Ga.), Keeley Kohler (Davison, Mich.), Brianna Lucas (Marietta, Ga.), Elise Ritzenthaler (Quinlan, Texas), Analiah Solorio (Littleton, Colo.), and Jaelyn Stetz (Moorhead, Minn.).
2025 MACs: The 2025 MAC Championships will be held at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., Saturday, March 22. If the Eagles qualify, the team could compete at the NCAA Regionals, April 2-6, at one of four possible locations including Salt Lake City, Utah, Seattle, Wash., Tuscaloosa, Ala., and University Park, Pa. This season's NCAA Championships is set to be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, April 17-19.
ON THE HORIZON: EMU will battle the rest of the conference at the MAC Championships, March 22.
