Eastern Divers Set to Make Splash at NCAA Zone Diving Championships

Five Eastern divers will compete across three events Monday-Wednesday, March 10-12
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University divers will hit the boards to challenge some of the most talented collegiate divers in the United States at the 2025 NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, hosted by Ohio State University, at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion, in Columbus, Ohio, Monday-Wednesday, March 10-12.
The meet will start at 1 p.m. both Monday and Tuesday, featuring the 3m dive Monday and the 1m dive Tuesday. Wednesday's competition will begin at 11 a.m. and entail the platform dive.

WHO'S COMPETING?
The Eagles are sending five divers to the meet in Megan Lupa (Campden, Ontario/West Niagara Secondary), Rebekah Knapp (Mesa, Ariz./Skyline), Ciara Wheeler (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston), Malia Maire (San Luis Obispo, Calif./San Luis Obispo), and Taityn Speier (Fairfax, Va./WT Woodson).
WHAT EVENTS?
Lupa will see action in all three events (1m, 3m, platform), while Knapp will dive in the 1m and 3m. Wheeler, Maire, and Speier will compete in the 1m.
HOW THEY QUALIFIED
Lupa qualified in the 3m dive against Ohio, Jan. 31-Feb. 1, setting a personal-best 284.25 points, and later qualified for the 1m dive with a score of 280.70 at the Michigan First Chance Meet, Feb. 15. She then punched her ticket in the platform dive at the UB Diving Invite, scoring 229.90 points, Jan. 12.
Knapp made the cut in the 3m dive in the Eagles' first meet of the season against Cleveland State, Oct.18, earning a score of 317.25. She secured a spot in the 1m event via her 267.00 performance against Oakland, Nov. 21.
Wheeler earned her spot in the 1m against Indiana State, Nov 9, with a 267.38 outing, while Maire qualified against Oakland, Nov. 21, scoring 270.45. Speier made her first career NCAA zones cut by scoring 281.90 on the 1m dive at the Michigan First Chance Meet, Feb. 15.
UP NEXT
The swimmers will follow suit with the divers as they too will compete at a post-season championship in the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America National Invitational Championships, held at the F.A.S.T facility in Ocala, Fla., Thursday-Saturday, March 13-15.
