DAVIS, Calif. (EMUEagles.com) - Katin Childress' 9.875 score on beam highlighted the Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team's efforts Friday, March 7, inside University Credit Union Center in a competition against UC Davis and San Jose State.

Childress (Prosper, Texas/Prosper) scored .10 points higher than any other score in her career to tie for the top spot on beam, helping the Eagles score 192.950 points, while Kyrie Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista) tied for the meet's top bars score at 9.850.

Alana Fisher (Athens. Ala./Alabama Connections Academy) also put together a stellar meet, scoring 9.850 on beam, 9.825 on vault, and 9.775 on floor.

UC Davis won the meet with 196.025 while San Jose State took second with 194.800. Eastern tallied the second-best team marks in all four events.

How It Happened
Raisa Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center) led Eastern in the all-around category with 38.325 points, highlighted by her 9.800 effort on floor. Lowe, who won bars with a 9.850, also competed in all four events, logging 38.175 points.

Eastern's vault was led by Fisher's second-place 9.825 while Boris (9.750) and Abby Brushwood (State College, Pa./State College Area) (9.700) also provided the Eagles with scores of at least 9.700. EMU produced 48.525 points in the category.

The Eagles saw more success on bars as Lowe won the event for the third time this season, tallying a 9.850. Freshman Analiah Solorio (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield Senior) continued her solid stretch, matching her career-high 9.800 for the third-straight meet, which was tied for fourth. Eastern's 48.675 points in the event was its best of any apparatus Friday night.

Childress' career-high 9.875 on beam proved to be the Eagles' top score of the night, as the sophomore earned her first career event win. With her 9.850 Friday, Fisher has produced four-straight beam efforts of at least 9.800. Prior to this season, the vault and floor specialist had only competed on beam twice, March 9, 2024 (9.750) and March 23, 2024 (9.200). EMU registered 47.150 points in the event.

Boris and Brushwood each posted a 9.800 on floor, which tied for fifth. Brushwood has scored 9.800 or higher in seven-straight meets on floor, tallying a 9.850 or higher in five of those seven meets. Fisher matched her season high at 9.775 to round out Eastern's scores of at least 9.700. The Eagles recorded 48.600 points on floor.
