Women's Golf Wraps Play at Longhorn Invitational

Eagles placed 13th in a stacked field featuring seven teams in national top 50
AUSTIN, Texas (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team wrapped up play at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational on the University of Texas Golf Course with the Eagles placing 13th overall in a field that included seven teams ranked in the national top 50. The two-day event, hosted by Texas on the par-72, 6,473-yard course, saw Savannah de Bock lead all EMU players as she tied for 47th overall at 23-over 239 (78-82-79).
As a team, the Eagles shot 112-over 976 (324-324-328) with No. 7 Texas winning on its home course by shooting 16-over 880 (286-297-297). No. 13 Louisiana State University finished as the runner-up at 34-over 898 (291-304-303) while No. 2 University of Arkansas was third at 41-over 905 (297-301-307).
De Bock (Ecaussinnes-d'enghien, Belgium/Institut de l'Enfant-Jésus-Lycée/Georgia) was followed in the event by Mariana Vega (Barranquilla, Columbia/Colegio Karl C. Parrish), who finished 56th at 25-over 241 (79-74-88). Angelica Holman (Fort Pierce, Fla./Lincoln Park Academy/Daytona State/Georgia) tied for 68th at 34-over 250 (81-84-85), Riley Kim (Aldie, Va./Lightridge) finished 73rd at 38-over 254 (86-88-80) and Maddysun Beeching (Camberley, Surrey, England/Millfield School) placed 76th at 42-over 258 (90-84-84).

Eastern returns to action for its penultimate regular season tournament, March 28-30, when the Eagles head to The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tenn., for the Chattanooga Classic, hosted by the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. The three-day tournament will feature one round played each day with 16 teams in the field, including four top 25 teams in No. 10 University of North Carolina, No. 12 University of Virginia, No. 15 Vanderbilt University, and No. 22 Duke University.
