COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com)
– The Eastern Michigan University baseball team fell to Ohio State, 13-7, in a non-conference mid-week contest Tuesday, March 11, at Bill Davis Stadium.

John Hale (Ashland City, Tenn./Sycamore/Motlow State C.C.) led the Eagles with a 2-for-4 showing from the plate with two RBI.

Ohio State's Gavin Kuzniewski earned the win (2-1) while Michael Pfeiffer (Brownsboro, Ala./Huntsville/Northwest Shoals C.C.) (1-1) was credited with the loss.

How it Happened
After a Logan Hugo (Essexville, Mich./Essexville Garber) double in the first, the Buckeyes got the scoring started in the bottom half of the inning, plating three runs off four hits.

OSU added five runs in the second, before Hugo and Devan Zirwas (Imperial, Pa./West Allegheny/VCU) each tallied RBI to get the Eagles on the board with two runs in the third.

Ohio State scored two runs in the third while Connor Walsh (Mattawan, Mich./Mattawan) and Hale drove in one run apiece in the fourth. Walsh drove in Giano Zuccaro (Middleburg Heights, Ohio/Berea Midpark/Charleston) for his 10th RBI of the season and Hale sent home Brendan Kleiman (Olney, Md./Sherwood/Frederick C.C.), capturing his seventh RBI of the campaign.

The Buckeyes added two runs in the fourth and fifth innings before the Eagles plated three in the sixth, their highest-scoring inning of the day via an OSU wild pitch and RBI from Cooper Vance (New Waterford, Ohio/Mohawk) and Hale, bringing the score to 12-7 in favor of Ohio State.

The Buckeyes scored one run in the eighth to cap off the scoring as the game resulted in a 13-7 win for Ohio State.
