Holland stopped 20 shots over two matches

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Redshirt junior Ella Holland was named Mid-American Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the Eastern Michigan University soccer team for the second time this season. The MAC revealed its weekly winners Tuesday, Oct. 21.

Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) provided another standout week, making 20 saves over two matches while conceding just one goal. Holland is the first Eagle to win multiple Player of the Week honors in the same season since Sabrina McNeill did so during the spring 2021 season.

Holland, who leads the MAC in saves and save percentage, made 12 stops against Western Michigan, Oct. 16, before making eight saves against Akron, Oct. 19, her fifth match with at least eight saves this season. Her clean sheet against the Zips was her fifth of the season and fourth during MAC play.

Holland's 76 saves during MAC play are twice as many as the next closest keeper while her robust .927 save percentage during conference action is .083 higher than the next closest keeper.
