Holland made eight second-half saves
AMHERST, Mass. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team recorded its fourth clean sheet of the 2025 season in a scoreless draw at the University of Massachusetts Sunday, Oct. 12, at Rudd Field, as redshirt junior Ella Holland made eight saves, all of which came in the second half.
Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) recorded her third match with at least eight saves this season.
How It Happened
Neither team was able to muster a shot on goal in the first half as the teams' backlines remained stout, allowing a combined seven shots in the frame.
The second half saw an increased pace and intensity with 17 total shots, 11 of which were stopped by the goalkeepers. UMass took the first shot of the second half in the 48th minute, which Holland saved. Eastern's first shot on goal was from freshman Kate Cerveny (Elizabeth City, N.C./Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Technologies) in the 51st minute.
Neither team was able to get an attempt on target in the final 11 minutes of the match as both teams went home with one point.
