Mt. Zion High School product is 6’9, has 7’4 wingspan

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University men's basketball has signed Godslove Nwabude, Head Coach Stan Heath announced Thursday, May 16.

Nwabude (Lamham, Md./Mt. Zion Prep) is a 6'9 forward who holds a 7'4 wingspan. An incoming freshman ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, Nwabude has four seasons of eligibility remaining.

"We are very excited to bring Godslove here," Heath said. "He's got such a high ceiling and a really good motor. He's a high character kid and is very coachable. I think with his size - 6'9, 230 - he can give us a presence inside right away. He's got good hands, touch, and is very athletic, too. His upside is really at a high level. We're excited - he should give us some rebounding, toughness, and physicality. I think our fans are going to be really excited and enjoy watching his growth and development."

Nwabude held offers from 2024 NCAA Tournament-qualifying Mississippi State University, in addition to the University of Missouri and West Virginia University.

Nwabude joins Dillon Tingler (Huntington, W. Va./Huntington Expression Prep) as incoming freshmen for the Eagles. Also new for EMU in 2024-25 are Christian Henry (Chicago, Ill./The Skill Factory (Atlanta, Ga.)/Panola College), Jalen Terry (Flint, Mich./Beecher/Oregon/DePaul), and De'Sean Nelson (Toledo, Ohio/Robert S. Rogers/Kilgore College/DePaul).
