YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball program received significant news for its 2026-27 roster Monday, April 27, as the team learned that Mohammad Habhab will be staying in Ypsilanti after initially entering the NCAA's transfer portal.
Habhab (Dearborn, Mich./Fordson/Central Michigan), who was named to the All-MAC Freshman Team, was one of four players nationally to average at least 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.
The announcement serves as a valuable step toward a strong first season for Eastern's new head coach Billy Donlon.
Habhab recorded the first triple-double in program history with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists against Oakland, Nov. 21.
The redshirt freshman also averaged 1.4 blocks per game, ranking fourth in the MAC.
Habhab joins Gregory Lawson II (Saginaw, Mich./Oak Cliff Academy) and Braelon Green (Southfield, Mich./Southfield/Bowling Green) as returners for the 2026-27 season.
Fans can place season ticket deposits now as the Eagles prepare for Donlon's first season at the helm.
